Heinrich is my freedom

Renate Anna Becker

was born in Kevelaer in 1949 and grew up on the motor vessel Heinrich, an inland waterway ship, until the age of 6.

She went to school in Emmerich am Rhein, a beautiful little town with the typical Lower Rhine landscape: pollarded willows and flat as a pancake with bubbles.

The author is widowed and the mother of a daughter.

Renate Anna Becker only took her state exam in geriatric nursing later in life. Essentially, she did it to prove that she could do it and to refute opinions like: "You can't do that, don't even try!"

She lives in Rees, the picturesque Hanseatic city on the Lower Rhine, and writes fairy tales, short stories and fantasy novels.

  • A fairy tale that touches the heart

“Blanche” is more than a fairy tale – it is a journey into a world full of light, hope and quiet wonders.
Renate Anna Becker tells her story with a gentleness that immediately draws you in. Between lines of magic and humanity, you sense her belief in goodness, in nature, and in that which makes us shine from within.

A book that caresses the soul like a warm breeze – quiet, beautiful, and full of heart. A clear 5 stars from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is Blanche a role model for girls today?

One criticism to start with, but it doesn't detract from my overall rating! This fairy tale is not suitable for three-year-olds. The child should be at least five years old.

Without giving away any spoilers: The fairy Blanche is stunningly beautiful and kind, skilled with her magic wand, and rules her kingdom of Eldoria in a way that many modern rulers could learn from. She has a great sense of humor and even has a rock in her bed with the sun, into which she places the hero Oceanus shortly after they meet—please forgive the alteration of the idiom, as it simply reflects the child-friendly humor cultivated in this modern fairy tale.
What else does a fairy tale need? An evil dragon? It's there! Sorcery and magic? The magical world is certainly not lacking! Is the story relevant to our times? Absolutely, see and read for yourself!
